TEAM Bahamas received a rousing welcome at the Lynden Pindling International Airport on Friday full of cheers, hugs and Junkanoo music upon their return from the Special Olympics World Summer Games.
The 24 athletes brought home 14 medals, including six gold, from the Games in Abu Dhabi. Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture Rhoda Jackson, Director of Sports Timothy Munnings and Ambassador of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) His Excellency Tony S Joudi were also on hand to join in applauding the team.
