BLAIZE Darling Jr continues the progression of his prep basketball career and committed to an elite post-graduate programme.
Darling will join the Pro Holmes Sports Academy Basketball programme in Tampa, Florida, for the fall 2019 semester.
Since 2016, Pro Holmes Sports Academy, led by Aaron Holmes, boasts of its production and ability to facilitate its players to the collegiate basketball level.
“PHSA is elite at identifying athletes that can contribute to a team at the collegiate level. In its management and efficacy, the performance of PHSA is unparalleled nationwide. Players in PHSA go through rigorous workouts daily. These include weight lifting, conditioning, flexibility, and skill work on the court. Multiple workouts in the same day are implemented in order to help players improve at a rapid pace and to best simulate the schedule that athletes face at the collegiate level,” the PHSA website said.
“The small class size at PHSA allows trainers and coaches to give each and every athlete the individual attention that is required in order to prepare for the next level. In addition to this elite training, players play over 20 games against the best competition in the southeast US in order to create film to show to colleges.”
Darling, the 6’2”, 170-pound guard, has been a two-sport star in both basketball and athletics for the Master’s Academy High Eagles in Orlando, Florida.
After leaving Queen’s College, he matriculated to the United States and spent two years at Lake Mary Preparatory School in Lake Mary, Florida.
Darling also played for Raptors Elite and coach Alex Marshall at the travel club level.
“Blaize came to us from The Bahamas with strong track abilities in the 10th grade and increased his talent in basketball along the way,” Marshall tweeted.
“A young talent for his class and has created his own wave. So proud of you! Coach Holmes earned a special talent.”
Master’s Academy associate athletic director and basketball head coach Reggie Kohn previously told The Tribune that Darling has made an invaluable contribution to the Eagles programme.
“Blaize is a tremendous athlete that impacts the game offensively and defensively with his speed and quickness. Blaize has worked extremely hard on his shooting and now can not only blow past his defenders to score, but he can also make the open threes,” Kohn said. “Blaize plays with passion and energy and it’s contagious. He never takes a day off. He is a proven winner for us.”
