Man stable after stabbing in fight

A MAN is in hospital in serious but stable condition following a stabbing incident early yesterday morning at Taino Beach in Grand Bahama, police reported.

According to Assistant Superintendent Terecita Pinder, the victim reported that shortly after midnight he and a man who is known to him were involved in an altercation while at the beach. He told police the man produced a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen.

ASP Pinder said the victim was rushed by private vehicle to Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was treated by a doctor. He is detained in hospital where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.

Police are actively investigating the matter.

Police also said they want to speak with Johnovan Smith, who they believe can help with an attempted murder investigation.

Mr Smith has an average build with a dark brown complexion and wears his hair in cornrows.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Detective Unit in Grand Bahama at 350-3107 through 12, 911, 919, or the nearest police station.

Wears his hair in cornrows. You sure its a he and not a she? Only gals wear their hair like that.
