This Friday, the Bahamas Harvest Church is hosting Keysha Edwards Taylor for her “Piano Works” concert as a tribute to the memory of her late mother, Bahamian cultural icon Kayla Lockhart Edwards.

The evening will start with an art exhibition featuring Bahamian artists Matthew Wildgoose, Jodi Minnis and Allan Pacino Wallace, as well as musician Marquinn Edwards. Featured vocalists Naomi Taylor and Osano Neely will also give their soulful contributions. Keysha will then perform her piano compositions from her newly released album, “Piano Works”.

Keysha, who is an award nominated Christian/Gospel artist said in an earlier interview with The Tribune: “My mother’s influence in my life is colossal. Musically, her influence was deep. She was unwavering in her encouragement for my musical training in my formative years. As my technique and education grew, she would challenge me and lovingly push me to do greater and become the best at what I was doing. I was always eager to hear her ideas and implement them in my learning, performing and ministry.”

Also featured during Friday’s concert will be musicians Earl Forbes on bass and Neil Symonette on drums. Spoken word poetry and African drumming will be performed by Princess Pratt. Part of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Ranfurly Homes for Children and to the Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.

Keysha’s albums, “Piano Works”, “Deep Songs From Within”, and her accompanying book, “Deep Book”, will be available for purchase at the event.

The evening starts with the art exhibition at the Bahamas Harvest Church’s East Campus on Prince Charles Drive at 7pm; the concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are $30.
