Always a flooding issue

EDITOR, The Tribune

FISH Hole Road/Causeway has for years been an issue from flooding…spend $8-10 million surely problems solved? Not even with the rains and high tide, no tropical storm or hurricane Saturday the Police had to close the new $10m replacement causeway as it was unsafe.

Also why hadn’t any repair to the new road been made…Dorian was when? The causeway has not been officially opened.

Ministry of Public Works has a lot to explain.

Back to Dorian did the new design elevated, raised up, with open storm culverts cause the flooding of the west side of Freeport as there is evidence that flooding water had no way to escape as there is a limestone fill road from the mainland to the Dockyard blocking totally any free flow escape for the flood waters coming down through Hawksbill to the south coast…this further needs explaining.

It is my hope that very soon the powers that be will stop dredging and digging up Grand Bahama. The new cruise port will require dredging. and what does Dravo rock really do. Then soon there will be OBAN

But The Government bans plastic bags and pats themselves on the back. and poor folks have to buy bags, 5o miles from the Bahamas Florida plastic bags in abundance..
