THERE would be no backdoor sweep this year in the New Providence Softball Association’s men’s championship series.
The CS Hitmen closed out the Commando Security Truckers with a 7-0 shutout win last night in game six to claim the 2019 NPSA title.
The Hitmen took a 3-0 lead in the series before the Truckers won back-to-back games facing elimination.
The Hitmen exacted revenge on the Truckers after a memorable 2018 series between the two teams.
The Truckers faced seemingly insurmountable odds down 3-0 but played arguably their best softball of the season to win four consecutive games and complete the backdoor sweep in seven games.
