The word of God is the most important and significant remedy there is for the healing of a people and nation. The word of God restores and revives! The word of God is a potent, redoubtable and formidable force to reckon with! The word of God brings healing to any and all situations.

Psalm 107:20 says: "He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." The word of God has an astronomical and monolithic effect on the believer and for the believer. Storms will come such as Hurricane Dorian, and also the spiritual storms on this journey called life. God has sent an agent which is His unadulterated word that should always cause in the saint a feeling of exuberant joy and a sense of ebullience. Hurricanes will come! Trials will come!

However, we have an anchor in the soul; this anchor in the trust in the living word of God, which is Jesus Christ and in His written word. Notice, I've used the written word and living word of God in this column?

John 1:1;14 says: "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God; And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

Jesus is the "logos", which is the word of God in the Greek language - an "expression of a thought, the word." The word is a transformative and life-changing instrument that is unimaginably effective. The Bible's book of Psalms draws an analogy between the written word of God and the weather. I'll utilise this, considering we just faced Hurricane Dorian.

Psalm 147:15-20: "He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly. He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes; He casts out His hail like morsels; who can stand before His cold? He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow. He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgements to Israel. He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise the Lord."

Herein is a paradigm, or an epitome of the word and it's effects on humanity. Trust Jesus who is the living word of God, and rest assured in His written word.
