The Rhema International Family Development Centre Ministries is this week bringing Christian women together for it's annual conference.

Having kicked off yesterday, the Women of Destiny Conference, under the theme "It's Me, Lord", will continue through Sunday, September 22, with nightly sessions at 7pm at the centre on Prince Charles Drive.

Speakers include Minister Monique Mejias of Jesus Christ Centered Ministry; Pastor Claudell Farrington of Christ Temple Apostolic Ministries; Pastor Clarice Thompson of Global Outreach Ministries, Eleuthera, and on Sunday at 11am, the church's very own Apostle Dr Rosetta V Clare will conclude the conference with a service.

In an interview with Tribune Religion, Deacon Valarie Newbold, Rhema's office administrator, said even though this year's theme was chosen long before Hurricane Dorian, it is still a pertinent and timely topic.

Speaking of the history of the conference, which was first held in 1998, Deacon Newbold said: "We feel that the conference is successful when you can see the move of God taking over the service, and persons in attendance can leave with their burdens lifted, bodies healed, souls delivered, and there is move of the Spirit of the Lord in our midst. It gives us great pleasure in hosting this event again. God promised that He will never leave us or forsake us and He has been faithful to His word."

She said since the beginning, Rhema has hosted many spiritual seminars, revival services, and has assisted in activities for communities in the eastern part of the country. Deacon Newbold believes the women's conference came about because there was a need for women to have this special time for ministry, apart from the regular services. It is also designed to have women ministering to other women who understand their physical, spiritual and emotional needs.

"It brings women together to focus on God's word concerning situations they may be experiencing. There are occasions when a woman will speak to other women and not feel embarrassed in what they are going through. When you begin to share, you will find that many women are experiencing similar situations. This is not a time for judgement, but to give helpful advice and support," said Deacon Newbold.

As the event continues this weekend, Deacon Newbold said they are confident the speakers will be well prepared to bring healing and deliverance to all in attendance.
