DOHA, QATAR — Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Lanisha Rolle (left) met with International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) President, Lord Sabastian Coe during the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar, on September 27.
Minister Rolle also took the time to congratulate newly awarded IAAF Lifetime member, Pauline Davis-Thompson, the double Olympic gold medallist who was honoured and recognised for her service as an IAAF council member for 12 consecutive years.
Davis-Thompson is the first female and female of colour, the youngest awardee of this category and the first Bahamian to be awarded this prestigious honour.
Minister Rolle also embraced the opportunity to speak briefly with IAAF two-time Diamond League champion Shanaue Miller-Uibo.
In words of encouragement to Miller-Uibo, Minister Rolle reminded her that she and her colleagues have a record of greatness.
