COVID-19 forces Scotia to close Cable Beach branch

Scotiabank (Bahamas) yesterday confirmed it has closed its Cable Beach branch until next Monday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The bank, in a statement before the Prime Minister's address last night, said it was working closely with the Ministry of Health to have other staff members tested.

“Our highest priority is always to protect the health and safety of our staff and customers, and we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure that all safety measures and best practices are adhered to,” said Roger Archer, Scotiabank (Bahamas) managing director.

The bank urged customers to use Scotia OnLine Banking or the Scotia Mobile app to conduct transactions such as checking account balances and monitoring account activity; transferring funds to accounts at other banks; paying bills; and paying credit cards.

Business customers with online cash management services can make wire payments online, while debit and credit cards can be used at stores and business places using point of sales machines.
