TWO men were arraigned in Magistrates Court yesterday on firearm possession charges.
Eric Arthur, 21, and Elvardo Deveaux, 22, stood before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis yesterday, charged with being in possession of an unlicenced firearm. Deveaux was also charged with possession of ammunition.
Arthur is accused of unlawfully possessing an unlicenced black glock .40 pistol on August 17. Meanwhile, Deveaux is accused of possessing an unlicenced black Austria Glock. 40 pistol and 13 unfired rounds of 40mm ammunition on August 18.
Both men, who were represented by attorney Ian Cargill, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Bail was denied for both defendants and the matters were adjourned to November 18 for trial. The men were remanded but have a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
Also appearing in court yesterday was Franklyn Dean, 26.
Dean stood before Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux, charged with causing grievous harm after he was accused of causing harm to Carvon Glass on July 24. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
However, bail was denied and the matter adjourned to November 9. Dean also has the right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
