Bahamas gains 'massive visibility' from mall show

The Bahamas has gained “massive visibility and exposure” through being promoted to thousands of shoppers at one of south Florida’s largest malls.

This nation has “dominated” the Sawgrass Mills complex since January 16, and shoppers have one final weekend to experience the showcase which ends on February 9.

Large Bahamas banners are hung throughout the mall, including one covering a wide-open area where three of Sawgrass Mills’ avenues meet. Bahamas tourism representatives and their partners are also staffing a booth in the mall between 12 noon and 6pm each Thursday through Sunday to provide information updates and promotional items.

Betty Bethel-Moss, director of sales for the Bahamas Tourist Office (BTO) in Florida, said the mall promotion provides a “one-of-a-kind opportunity for the islands of The Bahamas to be showcased at a venue that attracts such a large number of shoppers daily, translating into massive visibility and exposure for our islands”.

Partners working alongside the local BTO team include Bahamasair, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, the Grand Lucayan Resort, Balearia Caribbean Express ferry, Dolphin Encounters, Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board, Jet Blue and Sandals resorts.
