The prime minister will attend Monday’s groundbreaking for the Leno Group’s new $25m corporate head office at the top of Collins Avenue’s hill.
Designed by Bahamian architect, Wellington Woods, the five-storey glass and steel building will enable the ten year-old financial services provider to relocate from its current home on Bernard Road.
“The construction of this attractive building is about more than creation of an edifice,” said Sean K Longley, the Leno Group of Companies’ founder and chief executive. “It is a reflection of Leno’s confidence in the future of The Bahamas and our commitment to helping to strengthen the new chapter of financial services, particularly as it serves and benefits Bahamians and Bahamian enterprises.”
Leno has evolved into a full-time staff of 20, in addition to outsourcing to vendors. It has expanded from providing pension administration, investment management and brokerage services to providing back office corporate services, fund management, financial consulting, trust services and real estate.
Leno is expected to occupy the top floors of its Leno Corporate Centre. Other tenants will be announced at a later date, said Mr Longley, with expected completion occurring in mid-2021.

Man. It sure sounds like a good business to sell Government debt. So profitable in The Bahamas.

They Cut down a large portion of the hill on Collins Avenue to build Leno Corporate office. Where will we go when the sea rises. Have anyone noticed the very large holes the US embassy is digging under their new location on Shirley street. Things the make you go hummm.

I just don't understand it. I recall from bzck in high school hearing about the deforestation in Haiti that eventually led to landslides and wondering why would they cut down all the trees?Somewhere up beyond the skies some advanced civilization is looking down at the nassau in the middle of the ocean saying what in Heavens name are they doing???

My oh my. Perhaps the PM will tell the public which of his cabinet ministers (including himself) will have a direct or indirect ownership interest in this new $25 million corporate head office to be financed by Bank of The Bahamas. Or is this to be yet another Sebas Bastian financed/owned building with one or more cabinet minister partners behind the scenes?
