Your light still shines

By AYANNA CLARKE

“Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East and have come to worship Him!”

The power of this statement has not faded over the years.

It was a sign – a guiding light to men of wisdom and wealth.

It was a revelation – an exposé of prophetic scripture.

It was a promise – a sign that salvation was imminent.

The star was the symbol that pointed to the Saviour, the Messiah, the King!

I begin this new year of promise and potential by declaring that you too are a sign, a revelation and a promise. This is the year that greatness in many aspects will be required of you. How will you know this?

People will come looking for you! A demand will be placed on your talent and on your call!

None of us have been placed on this earth by accident. There is a light that shines from us that touches people wherever we go. As we begin 2020, we do so with the idea that parts of our destiny, locked up on the inside of us for years, will be pulled out of us in many ways.

When the Magi followed the star they were following a signal, a beacon that wonderful change, fulfilled prophecy, and divine revelation lay just ahead. That will be true of you in this new season!

All that you have accomplished and overcome has birthed a greatness in you that can’t be denied. It must be shared in order to bring deliverance to others in some way. Your truth, your presence and your gift will all be a light, drawing others to you, while pointing the way to Christ.

Many times, our experience, the downfalls and the pit stops, cause us to lose belief in the wonderful person that we have all been created to be. But in 2020 and beyond, I firmly believe that your light still shines.

Each of us has been given a gift to bestow upon the world, and people we have been divinely commissioned to serve, and touch. There will be a demand on that gift this year.

Truth be told, teaching was never my choice as a profession. Over the years I realised though that I would never have been fulfilled doing anything but. So many wonderful and talented kids have sat in my care – athletes, sharp academic minds, creative spirits – all needing me to tell them, “You can do this!” or even sometimes, “Honestly...Are you kidding me!?”

If I had given up on this call, students may not have graduated, they may have believed what their circumstances said about them. Potential college candidates would have never trusted in who they could be if I had chosen to dim the light God placed in me from the beginning of time.

Your light is no different. Whatever your gift is, it was given “... without repentance...” God hasn’t changed His mind about who you are or what lives you are ordained to touch. They are seeking your light!

I hate resolutions, but here’s our New Year Declaration: Happy New Year and God bless you this week!
