ABACO police discovered a “substantial” quantity of dangerous drugs, illegal firearms, and ammunition at a house that resulted in the arrest of two men on Monday evening.
A third man was arrested for drug possession in a separate incident, police reported.
The first arrest was made shortly after 6pm when officers, acting on information, executed a search warrant at a residence on Don McKay Boulevard.
According to police reports, officers found a substantial amount of suspected marijuana, as well as 52 marijuana seedlings about one inch in height. They also recovered a Smith and Wesson pistol with 11 rounds of ammunition, a black unlicensed shotgun, and suspected stolen items. Officers also discovered some $1,708 cash in mixed currency. Two men were taken into custody.
In a second incident, shortly after 7pm, officers on duty at S C Bootle Highway arrested a man who was allegedly found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.
The three men are expected to be formally charged in the Magistrate’s Court this week on that island.
