ROBYN Rolle-Curry will become the latest student athlete to join the Bahamian pipeline at Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons track and field programme.

The programme has announced members of its incoming freshman class in a month-long roll out via social media.

The Kingsway Academy Saint heads to the Dragons with personal bests of 24.82 seconds in the 200m and 56.14 in the 400. A member of the Star Trackers Club, her shortened season concluded with a second place finish in the 400m at the BAISS championships in the aforementioned personal best time.

The Dragons compete out of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference of NCAA Division II.

Two time Bahamian Olympian Trevor Barry currently serves on staff as an assistant coach.

Barry previously served as an assistant coach at North Dakota State.

At NDSU during Barry’s time as an assistant, the Bison won nine Summit League women’s team titles and seven men’s team titles. He coached two NCAA All-Americans, seven national qualifiers and 10 school record holders.

Representing the Bahamas, Barry was a high jump finalist at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - he finished 11th. He also qualified for the 2012 Summer Games in London. He was a World High Jump finalist in 2015 and was a bronze medallist at the 2011 World Outdoor Championships. He has been instrumental in recruiting Bahamians to the programme, including Dragons’ Men’s Field Athlete of the Year (Indoor) and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference’s Newcomer of the Year - Shyrone Kemp.

Kemp now ranks in the Dragons top 10 in the high, triple and long jumps.

The Dragons’ roster also includes sprinter Ty Dawkins. This past season, Dawkins was named the programme’s Most Improved Male Athlete. He now ranks on the Dragons’ All-Time Top 10 list at 60m, 200m and 400m.
