A GRAND Bahama couple was robbed at gunpoint by two masked men in Freeport on Tuesday, police reported.
A police report said the incident happened shortly after 4pm when a woman and man were reportedly accosted by two masked men armed with a gun at the Maurice Moore Primary School. The victims were robbed of personal items and their vehicle, a gold 2004 Hyundai Tucson.
In other crime news, police discovered illegal drugs at a residence in Freeport, taking one man into custody on Tuesday. Police said shortly after 9pm officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Newton Crest, where they found a quantity of marijuana and $1,450 in mixed Bahamian and US currency.
Meanwhile, police in New Providence are investigating two armed robberies that occurred on Tuesday. In the first incident, sometime around 2.40pm a gunman entered a convenience store at Blue Hill Road South and robbed the cashier of an unknown amount of cash.
In the second, shortly before 8pm, a man was working near Soldier Road when he was approached by the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle who produced a firearm and robbed him of cash.
