A 34-year-old man was remanded to prison yesterday on charges that he was found last week with an unlicensed firearm and a quantity of illegal ammunition.
Wayde Wallace appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney after he was accused of being in possession of a black Taurus pistol, six unfired rounds of .40 ammunition and one unfired round of 9mm ammunition on November 5.
He denied the allegations and the case was adjourned to January 7 for trial.
In the meantime, Wallace was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
He has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
