A 31-year-old man who threw rocks at another man during an argument earlier this week has been ordered to pay him $150 compensation.
Police said Allen Emmanuel assaulted a man around 10pm on November 17.
He admitted the offence during a hearing before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.
The court was told the complainant got into an argument with Emmanuel at his residence. The prosecution said the defendant threw rocks at the man during the verbal altercation. This prompted him to request police action. Emmanuel was subsequently arrested. He denied the allegations in an interview with police.
During the hearing, Emmanuel was represented by attorney Tony Scriven. He told the magistrate his client took responsibility for what he had done and was remorseful for his actions. He also said while Emmanuel did throw rocks during the altercation, the complainant never sustained any injuries.
As a result, Magistrate Vogt-Evans granted Emmanuel a conditional discharge on the agreement he would pay his victim $150. She said if he failed to do so, he would be sentenced to a week behind bars.
