A 38-year-old man was remanded to prison yesterday accused of robbing a man at gunpoint of $9,000 last week.
Wayne Kelly stood before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle Davis, charged with armed robbery. He was accused of using a handgun to rob George Henderson of $9,000 on November 19.
During yesterday’s hearing, Kelly was not required to enter a plea to the charge and his case was adjourned to February 22 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment.
He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services in the interim.
Also appearing before Magistrate Rolle Davis yesterday was Zhavargo Rolle, 25, who was arraigned for stealing.
Officers alleged that on November 22, Rolle stole 10 alternators, five starters, five compressors, eight Nissan doors, five Passo doors, 10 lights, two car engines, four steering racks and three transmissions from Bryant Rolle – all valued at $7,300.
Rolle pleaded not guilty to the offence. Bail was denied and the case was adjourned to November 22. He has the right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
