A 34-year-old man was remanded to prison over allegations he raped a woman last week.
Juan Mendoza was accused of having sex with a 58-year-old woman without her consent on September 26.
He was not required to enter a plea during his hearing before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt yesterday and the matter was adjourned to December 17 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
Mendoza was denied bail and remanded into custody until that time.
He has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
