I concur with the article of Thursday, May 28, 2020 in the Nassau Guardian by Bishop Walter Hanchell. The Prime Minister has indeed been extremely unfair to the church. I concur with the position of Pastor T G Morrison who stated that the government does not have the power to tell the church what to do. He is indeed a brave bold warrior for Christ. This repeated stance indeed.

More of us need to stand for truth, justice and the church Archbishop Desmond TuTu of Africa said, “when we remain silent in matters of injustice, we take sides with the oppressors.” In my opinion the Hon Hubert Minnis has also been extremely unfair to the church and has no earthly gumption to control God’s church and Hubert Minnis has no power to declare how long church service should be and demand if we have communion or not.

The constitution grants Christian believers the rights to freedom of worship and as we see fit. The church complied with the needs by following health precautions such as social distancing and sanctification to avoid the COVID-19 Pandemic, etc, and the church has complied. While the food stores and hardware supplier are filled with customers, our churches are only permitted ten people and services must be held in these parking lots.

These restrictions are unfair and unjust and we appeal to the powers that be to remove these as soon as possible. Like anything else the church is also an essential service and we appeal to the PM please adjust these restrictions as soon as it is humanly possible. We provide religious help in the event of prayers and hope which are obviously needed in these extreme times.

I concur with an article by Rick T of The Nassau Guardian of May 29, 2020; that practising social distancing and frequent hand washing and sanitary precautions are welcomed and should be obeyed, however, my spirit was also challenged when your regulations seem to conflict with God’s word. Let me have you told that in Acts 5:24 when Peter and the apostles were challenged to stop preaching about Jesus Christ; their reply was, “we must obey God rather than man. Lest we forget. God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent; in other words God is everywhere.”

I therefore implore you, good sir, not to clamp your alleged strong hands on God’s people else we will request that he move you.

Let me have you told the Bible tells us that the stones will cry out in our steed if we fail to praise God, the almighty.

Pastor T G Morrison of Zion Baptist Church, East and Shirley Streets bombasted new protocols. Those permitted churches to worship in parking lots amid the COVID-19 pandemic. His stance is that the government does not have the power to tell the church what to do; be it service or Sunday school. Moreover, be it in the parking lot or in the confines of the church. We shall serve Jehovah, Almighty rather than man.
