A GRAND Bahama couple is in hospital with serious injuries following a shooting incident in the Freeport area on Tuesday evening, police reported.
The incident occurred shortly after 11pm in South Bahamia, where a man and woman were shot in their vehicle. Both victims sustained injuries about the body and were taken to Rand Memorial Hospital.
Police are searching for the gunman.
Superintendent of Police Terecita Pinder reported that police received reports of a shooting at Lunar Boulevard and Santa Maria Drive.
According to reports, a male and female told police that while pulling into the driveway of an apartment, a male gunman approached the vehicle they were in and opened fire, shooting the vehicle numerous times.
Supt Pinder said both occupants inside the vehicle received gunshot injuries about the body. They were taken to hospital and seen by doctors who listed their injuries as serious, but stable.
