TODD Isaacs Jr will return to professional baseball this season with the New Jersey Jackals of the Canadian-American Division of the Frontier League.

The Frontier League is the largest league in all of independent professional baseball. It includes teams in the Northeastern and Midwestern United States and Eastern Canada. Last year it merged with the American Association and the Atlantic League to become an official MLB Partner League.

In July, the Jackals won the All American Baseball Challenge, a pop up league between teams in the Northeastern US after the pandemic forced the cancellation of the Frontier League.

The Jackals will open their season on May 27 on the road against the Sussex County Miners.

The Jackals will play in a 96-game season in the Northeast Division, including 48 home and away games. The league playoffs begin in September.

Isaacs last played for the Colorado Rockies organisation at the Triple A level in 2020, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He was released by the Rockies in April, following the cancellation of the minor league baseball season.

He spent the bulk of the season in Grand Junction at the Rookie Level but also received the highest call up of his career when he was called up to the Albuquerque Isotopes of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League.

After spending nearly four years with the Cleveland Indians organisation, Isaacs signed with the Rockies and spent approximately a year with the organisation. His final seasons in the Indians system included a successful stint with the Lake County Captains, of the Class A - Midwest League.

In 106 games with the Captains, Isaacs hit .232 with 90 hits, 30 stolen bases, an OPS of .608, 31 RBI, 128 total bases, 20 doubles, and four home runs.

In 82 games in 2017, his first with the club, Isaacs hit .224 with 18 stolen bases, slugging .376, an on-base percentage of .260, an OPS of .636, 33 RBI and nine home runs.
