A 25-year-old Grand Bahama man was charged with causing grievous harm in connection with a stabbing incident on Grand Cay, Abaco.
Raheem Forbes, of Bartlett Hill, Eight Mile Rock, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbie Ferguson.
It is alleged that on August 10, at Grand Cay, Abaco, the accused intentionally caused unlawful harm to Elvardo Cooper.
Forbes was represented by Wendell Smith. He pleaded not guilty to the offence and elected a summary trial in the Magistrate’s Court.
Prosecutor Inspector Anthony Sawyer noted that Smith has antecedents of a similar nature. The virtual complainant is in hospital and has received treatment by doctors.
Mr Smith told the court that his client recently relocated to Grand Cay where he is employed as a fisherman. He said that he would not interfere with the virtual complainant.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Ferguson granted Forbes $9,000 signed bail and $1,000 cash bail with one or two suretors.
The case was adjourned to December 2.
In a separate matter, a man was charged in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court yesterday with stealing.
