A TEENAGER accused of being a “Peeping Tom” was yesterday remanded to prison pending a bail hearing.
Levant Wright, Jr, 18, was arrested after he was accused of “surreptitiously” observing a naked woman while she was having a bath in her Lovely Bay, Acklins home on August 8.
The youngster, who is from Major’s Cay, Crooked Island, pleaded not guilty to one count of voyeurism when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.
However, before the question of bail could be determined, the magistrate requested additional time to consider her position.
As a result, she adjourned the matter to August 30 for a bail hearing.
Wright was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until that time.
Meanwhile, a man who denied having housebreaking tools, was yesterday granted bail before his trial.
Melvin Lavarity was arrested after police alleged that he had two flathead screwdrivers and a pair of red and black gloves.
During his arraignment before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle Davis he claimed he only had one screwdriver and denied having any gloves.
As a result, a not guilty plea was recorded on his behalf and the case was adjourned to November 17 for trial.
In the meantime, Lavarity was granted $5,000 bail.
