GRAND Bahama Police are investigating a drowning that occurred this week in Eight Mile Rock.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stephen Rolle said the body of a man was discovered shortly before 5pm on Wednesday at a beach in Holmes Rock.
Officers at the Eight Mile Rock Police Station went to investigate and found an adult male unresponsive on a beach.
ASP Rolle reported that initial investigations revealed the man who frequented the beach was seen going into the water for a swim, leaving his bicycle on the beach.
He said checks were made for the man which led to the discovery.
The body was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was examined and pronounced dead by the doctor.
Investigations are continuing into his death.
