A MAN is expected to be charged with murder in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The matter is in connection with the shooting death of a juvenile in Pinder’s Point last Friday.
The deceased teen was a former student of the Beacon School in Grand Bahama. He resided in Pinder’s Point with his mother.
Police were called to a shooting incident shortly after 8pm in Pinder’s Point.
According to a crime report, a 17-year-old boy was conducting mechanical work in the area. Police said the victim walked across the street when a man with a firearm approached him and discharged several rounds of ammunition in his direction, shooting him multiple times about the body.
EMS personnel were summoned to the scene and found no signs of life. The victim was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead.
