TWO men and a woman who denied disorderly behaviour in the presence of a police officer last week were granted bail.
Javon Johnson, 22; Rodney Smith Jr, 31, and Raynash Davis, 26, were arrested after they were accused of acting in a disorderly manner to the annoyance of a police corporal on December 3.
Johnson is further accused of resisting arrest and using obscene language the same day, while Smith and Davis are accused of obstructing a police corporal while acting in execution of his duties.
The trio pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux yesterday and the matter was adjourned to February 18 for trial.
Bail was also granted at $1,500 each with one surety.
David Thurston, 33, also appeared before Magistrate Turnquest-Deveaux, facing one count each of disorderly behaviour and obscene language.
Police said Thurston acted in a disorderly manner and used obscene language while at the Southern Police Station on December 3.
Thurston, who pleaded guilty, was placed on two months’ probation for each count. He was also ordered to write an apology to police. The magistrate warned Thurston if he failed to comply with the conditions of his release, he would be sentenced to one month in prison on each count.
