A 22-year-old man who denied breaking into a local school and stealing food was yesterday granted bail before his trial.

Christian Sargeant appeared before Magistrate Kendra Kelly after he was accused of breaking into Saint Augustine’s College and stealing over $100 worth of food items sometime between December 24 and December 25.

During the arraignment, he denied the allegations and the matter was adjourned to February 4, 2022 for trial.

Sergeant was granted $3,000 bail with one or two sureties and he is also required to sign into the Fox Hill Police Station on Mondays.

Also appearing in court for similar offences was 39-year-old Belony Charles.

Police alleged that Charles caused a combined $600 worth of damage to Karen Gardiner and Ochea Flowers’ vehicles and stole their handbags on December 22.

However, the accused denied the offences and the matter was adjourned to February 14, 2022 for trial.

Bail was granted at $5,000 with one or two sureties. He was also ordered to wear an ankle monitoring bracelet and report to East Street South Police Station twice a week.
