COMMISSIONER of Police Paul Rolle revealed that currently 23 police officers have recently tested positive for the coronavirus, including three in Grand Bahama.
The police chief gave a breakdown of the infections at a press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister yesterday.

“All of these units have an extremely high interaction with members of the public. We also have an additional 31 officers in quarantine. All of the officers in quarantine have been vaccinated. To date, we have over 2,000 police officers and 600 reserves who are vaccinated.”
The Commissioner also spoke about the challenges of responding to events over the holiday weekend which took place despite them being denied requests to operate.
“…With a significant rise in new cases over the past week, the COVID Enforcement Unit conducted some 400 checks of business establishments and restaurants.
“We were particularly challenged over the holiday weekend when persons took the liberties to breach denied requests to hold events.
“Officers from the Grove station and CID responded mainly to these incidents.”
