A MAN who denied assaulting his wife with a firearm was yesterday granted bail ahead of his trial.
The 45-year-old was accused of threatening to kill and assaulting his estranged wife with a handgun on February 13.
The prosecution argued that the accused also harmed the woman with the deadly weapon at the time of the incident.
He denied all of the allegations during his hearing before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes and the case was adjourned to June 21 for trial.
In the interim, the accused was granted $6,000 bail. He was also ordered to relocate from his existing matrimonial home and told not to come within 100-feet of the complainant until the matter was resolved.
