TWO men were arrested for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition following a search by police of a residence in the Eight Mile Rock area.
According to reports, sometime after 2am on December 31, officers of the Criminal Investigation Department went to a residence in Simple Village, Martin Town.
While there, officers searched the residence and discovered a .40 Glock pistol, with four live rounds of ammunition.
Two men who live at the residence were arrested and taken into custody.
In another matter, shortly after 6pm on December 31, officers of the Southwestern Division were in the area of Arden Forrest Road where they searched nearby bushes and uncovered a 9mm pistol.
No arrest was made in that matter.
