A HARBOUR Island man who denied having an unlicenced firearm and a quantity of illegal ammunition was yesterday granted bail ahead of his trial.
Police alleged Daxton Gibson, 30, had a 9mm pistol, along with nine unfired rounds of 9mm ammunition in his possession on January 11.
He denied the allegations during a hearing before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
As a result, a trial was scheduled for June 15 and Gibson was granted $3,500 bail in the interim.
Yesterday, two other Eleuthera men who denied assaulting another man with a deadly weapon in Harbour Island last week were released on bail.
Clarington Bowleg, 29, and Jehu Francis, 27, were arrested after they were accused of using a firearm to assault Ashley Barry on January 11.
Both men pleaded not guilty to the charge and the case was adjourned to June 15 for trial.
In the meantime, Bowleg and Francis were each granted $3,000 bail.
