A 28-year-old man was charged with murder yesterday in connection with a shooting incident that left a man dead on Independence Day.

Perdallion Moxey stood before Magistrate Samuel McKinney accused of murdering Teran Taylor on July 10.

According to police reports, shortly before 7am on July 10, officers were alerted to a shooting on Palmetto Road, Sunset Park.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found a man in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Services were called, but later pronounced him dead at the scene.

Moxey was not required to enter a plea due to the nature of the charge and the matter was adjourned to September 17 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment.

Bail was denied and he was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services in the interim.

He has the right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail. Moxey is represented by attorney Ian Cargill.
