A SECOND man was yesterday arraigned on several drug related charges in connection with the recent seizure of cocaine that was found on Cat Island last month.
Brannon Strachan, Jr, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt after he was accused of conspiring to possess cocaine intending to supply it sometime between May 7 and 12.
He was further accused of being found with the drugs in Arthur’s Town, Cat Island, on May 12 and conspiring to import the drugs sometime between May 7 and 12.
The prosecution alleged the accused actually imported the cocaine into the country on May 12.
During the hearing, Strachan Jr denied all of the allegations. He was arraigned a few weeks after his co-accused, David Hinds, was charged with the same offences in a hearing before former Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
After accepting Strachan’s not guilty pleas yesterday, Magistrate Ferguson-Pratt adjourned his case to September 7 for trial.
Like Hinds, he was also granted $30,000 bail in the interim.
