EDITOR, The Tribune.
I wrote several months ago to express my appreciation for the stellar organisation and professionalism of the vaccine site at Loyola Hall. And just when I thought the first experience couldn’t have gone better, I write again to say that it was even better.
My son and I had our second vaccine last Thursday at the Baha Mar site. On arrival we were greeted at the door and directed to the check in desk. From there, we were sent to have the vaccine administered, and afterwards, escorted to seats for our 15 minutes observation before exiting the building and heading home. All of this in around 25 minutes!
At every stage we were greeted and shown where to go next, and at every desk were treated with great ease and professionalism. The whole process could not have been better organised, and a huge thank you to the Ministry of Health staff and Baha Mar employees who made this actually a pleasant experience!
With many Bahamians still reluctant to be vaccinated, I hope more will consider how easy the process is, and how vitally important it is so that we can get the country’s economy up and running again, people back to work, and our lives back to some sense of normalcy. We all have a part to play in this – please do yours, as the life you save my not only be your own, but that of a beloved family member or friend.
Come on, Bahamians! Let’s do this for ourselves and each other.
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, we had no side effects except for a sore arm for 24 hours. And I’m happy to be able to travel to the out islands again with no testing.
