A TEENAGER was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with the indecent assault of a five-year-old girl.
Police said Rahame Gardiner, 19, indecently assaulted the young child sometime this month.
Yesterday, the accused appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes to enter a plea to the charge.
He denied the allegation and his case was adjourned to June 24 for trial.
In the interim, Gardiner was granted $5,000 bail and ordered to report to the Elizabeth Estates Police Station on Fridays on or before 6pm.
Magistrate Forbes also banned the defendant from having any indirect or direct contact with the complainant. He warned him if he failed to comply with the conditions of his release, his bail would be revoked and he would be remanded into custody until the case was completed.
