A 22-year-old man who denied stealing a part worth $5,432 from the bus of a local church was yesterday granted bail ahead of his trial.
Eryg Forbes was arrested after he was accused of stealing the catalytic converter of a 2008 Ford bus belonging to First Born Church of the Living God on May 16.
He was further accused of dishonestly receiving the car part and causing over $1,000 worth of damage to the bus’ transmission and muffler on the same day.
During his hearing before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle Davis, Forbes denied the allegations.
As a result, his matter was adjourned to September 13 for trial.
He was granted $8,000 bail until that time.
