A MAN was arrested on Andros on Thursday on suspicion of cultivating marijuana.
Police said that shortly before 5pm, officers from Andros, armed with a search warrant, went to a home in Little Creek.
On their arrival, they met a male occupant who was informed of their reason for being at the residence. The officers then searched the property and discovered 41 suspected marijuana plants. The male was taken into custody.
The suspected drugs have an estimated street value of $5,000.
An investigation is ongoing.
Police are also investigating three shooting incidents that took place over the weekend.
The latest shooting occurred before 3pm on Sunday in the area of Dorsett Street in Fox Hill.
Details were sketchy up to press time, but police said they were called to a shooting in the area. The victim’s condition was not known up to press time.
Police also said two shootings took place on Friday.
In the first incident, shortly after 9pm, a woman was parked outside a home on Dunmore Street when two male occupants of a motorcycle rode up to the residence. One of the suspects walked up to the vehicle and discharged a firearm in her direction, police said.
She was struck about the body multiple times. Emergency Medical Services took the victim to the hospital. She is listed in serious condition.
Then shortly before 11pm, a man was on St James Road when he was approached by the occupants of a gray coloured vehicle. One of the assailants produced a handgun and robbed him of cash and other personal items.
The gunman then shot the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. His condition is not known at this time.
