A MAN accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl is expected to stand trial in the Supreme Court in three months.
Tracy Neymour, 21, of Anderson Street, was served his voluntary bill of indictment (VBI) in Magistrate’s Court yesterday by Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on charges of having unlawful sexual intercourse with the child in New Providence on February 9.
After signing his VBI, the accused was informed of his notice of alibi meaning Neymour has 21 days to inform the court or Office of Public Prosecutions of any witnesses he wishes to speak in his defence during his trial in the Supreme Court.
In discussing the issue of Neymour being unable to pay his $20,000 bail, the magistrate told the accused to seek an amendment to bail through the Supreme Court on the basis of financial hardship.
Neymour is next expected to stand before Justice Bernard Turner on July 29.
