A WOMAN accused of killing a man by reckless driving earlier this year and then fleeing the scene was granted $10,000 bail yesterday.

Altanease Rolle, 24, was charged with vehicular manslaughter after being accused of causing the death of Sandy Rolle through reckless driving on February 14.

Rolle is also accused of driving an unlicensed and uninsured Toyota Passo without a valid driver’s licence at the time of the incident.

Police also claimed the accused failed to remain stationary after the accident and failed to report the incident within 24 hours after it occurred.

It is also alleged that she failed to notify the proper authorities of the change in ownership of the vehicle.

Due to the nature of the charges, Rolle was not required to enter a plea during her hearing before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis and the case was adjourned to June 21 for presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.

She was granted $10,00 bail with one surety. Rolle is being represented by attorney Bjorn Ferguson.

Also appearing in court on similar charges was Gregory Hanna, 57.

Hanna is accused of causing the death of Prince Albert Moxey through reckless driving on January 25.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge of killing in the course of dangerous driving and the matter was adjourned to June 21 for trial.

He was also granted $10,000 bail with one surety.
