Seems the OPM has totally adopted the US system of a “policy-stating Director of Public Relations”... a position that should simply tell the facts — certainly never editorialise and just state the “policy” oh, sorry guy, no attacking a critical comment from the free press except correcting misinformation.
I caught a comment of the OPM PR front guy on how the PM plans to resolve a 15 plus year-old problem of the underfunding of NEB... paraphrase the PR guy... “the PM is developing a means to finance NIB without cost to the general public”... paraphrasing might be off one or two words but that was the jist.
Surely, the correct statement should have been as simple and as direct as “The PM-Minister of Finance does not see the need to increase NIB contributions at this time. He is actively exploring remedies such as collection of the substantial arrears to the fund”.
Then we have the “new Cabinet Minister”... A she has become an expert on every social and other issue.
Transparency of Ministers? Why won’t the sitting Prime Minister at least twice a month have a half day of Prime Minister’s Question Time in the House? Minnis and them left 300 plus questions unanswered... Anyone heard any responses from this crew?
Should be every Wednesday, like UK — compulsory Prime Minister Question time. MPs of both sides can ask questions and they expect to have an immediate response not taking note we will reply (you know that never happens).
