THREE men who denied gun-related charges were remanded to prison yesterday.
Clayzdon McDonald, 34, Shivarro Miller, 27 and Lucendre Paul, 21, were arrested after police allegedly found them with an unlicensed firearm and a quantity of ammunition in separate incidents on the weekend.
Police said they discovered a black and green 9mm Taurus G2C pistol on Miller and Paul while they were together on April 24.
Five unfired rounds of ammunition were also found, police claimed.
However, the men denied allegations during their hearing before Magistrate Kendra Kelly yesterday.
When the question of bail was mentioned, the prosecutor objected to the men’s release, saying he wanted to check to see whether the accused had any pending criminal matters.
Magistrate Kelly ultimately acceded to his request and deferred bail to today.
Meanwhile, McDonald was accused of being in possession of a black G3C Taurus pistol, 22 unfired rounds of ammunition and a 9mm magazine on April 24.
The 34-year-old also pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Crown prosecutor also objected to the accused’s bail due to alleged concerns about his safety, claiming the charges stemmed from an altercation involving McDonald.
The prosecutor also told the court he wanted to see whether the accused had any pending matters.
As a result, bail was also deferred to today.
