A MAN was charged yesterday after being found in possession of a prohibited assault rifle and 33 lbs of drugs.
Orales Jerimere, 29, stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on three separate charges of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply, a prohibited weapon and ammunition.
On April 25 in New Providence, Jerimere was arrested for being found with a banned Del-Ton Inc 5.56mm calibre assault rifle with the serial number DTI-5215176, as well as 14 live rounds of .223 ammunition without a licence. He was also caught with 33 lbs of Indian hemp on the same day, the prosecution maintains.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
Jerimere was then remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until his bail hearing on May 2.
