A MAN was granted $6,000 bail yesterday in relation to allegedly causing grievous harm and damage to a man with a prosthetic leg.

Henly Hepburn, 39, stood before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on one charge each of grievous harm and damage.

On August 1 at Cable Beach Manor Road, Hepburn, allegedly caused grievous harm to Mario Fawkes. The defendant is further accused of intentionally causing damage to Fawkes’s carbon fibre and titanium “ABC” prosthetic leg, valued at $6,582.35.

Hepburn pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Hepburn was initially granted bail at $9,000 with two to three sureties. However, after the defendant raised concerns over bail payment, the bail was reduced to $6,000.

Under the conditions of his bail, Hepburn must sign in at Carmichael Road Police Station the last Sunday of each month.

Hepburn’s trial is set to begin on November 2.
