A MAN, accused of the armed robbery of a woman, was yesterday remanded in custody.
Donnatello Anderson, 29, appeared before Magistrate Shaka Serville on a charge of armed robbery.
On May 1 in New Providence, it is alleged that the accused, armed with a handgun, robbed Vanrea Davis of her iPhone 6, handbag and government ID.
Because of the nature of the offence, Anderson was not required to enter a plea in court. He was informed that his case would proceed by way of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).
The accused was further told that his case would be heard in the Supreme Court where he can apply for bail, it having been denied in the magistrate’s court.
Until bail is granted to him, Anderson will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
Anderson is to be served with his VBI on August 24.
