A MAN has been ordered to attend six months of drug counselling after being found with Indian Hemp.
Cleso Rolle, 28, appeared before Magistrate Shaka Serville on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs.
On July 11, Rolle was arrested in New Providence after he was found with 1oz of Indian hemp with a street value of $100.
In court, the accused pleaded guilty to the offence.
Rolle told the magistrate he takes drugs to deal with depression after the death of his parents and that he was just trying to enjoy the holiday weekend when he was caught.
He said he knew what he did was wrong and asked for the court’s help with his substance use.
After crediting Rolle for his early plea of guilty and noting that he seemed remorseful, Magistrate Serville granted the accused a conditional discharge.
As such, Rolle is expected to attend drug counselling and grief management classes at CCAC for six months.
Should he default on this condition or fail to produce a satisfactory report at the end of his counselling he will be convicted for the offence and face a fine of $500.
Rolle is expected to return to court for a report on December 16.
