TWO men were arraigned in a Magistrate’s Court yesterday on separate assault charges.
Brittany Johnson, 36, appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans charged with assaulting Breshanna Gittens on July 18 in New Providence. In court Johnson pleaded not guilty to the offence.
With no objections, bail was granted to the defendant at $1,000 with one or two sureties.
Johnson is next expected in court for trial on September 6.
The other man, Dominecko Babbs, 35, also stood before Magistrate Vogt-Evans on a charge of assault against Anika Johnson from March 20 in New Providence.
Babbs pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250 for the offence. Should the defendant fail to pay this fine he will face a one-month imprisonment at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
