TWO male juveniles were granted $7,000 bail yesterday after being found in possession of a loaded pistol.
The 16- and 15-year-olds, whose names are being withheld because they are minors, faced Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition.
On July 23 in New Providence, the accused were allegedly found with a black Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol without a licence. The two juveniles also had eight unfired rounds of 9mm ammunition in their possession.
Both accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
As there were no objections, $7,000 bail with one or two sureties was granted to each accused. Under the conditions of their bail, they are both expected to be fitted with electronic ankle monitoring bracelets.
Their trial is booked to begin on October 26.
